Diana E. Cherkiss joined the PA program after spending 5 years in clinical practice as a physician assistant in family medicine. Her latest position was at Abrams Medical Center in Miramar, FL, specializing in family medicine, weight loss, and regenerative medicine.

Diana graduated from the University of Central Florida cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in microbiology and molecular biology. She then went on to graduate with honors and earn a Master of Medical Science degree from Nova Southeastern University’s Ft. Lauderdale Physician Assistant program, and completed her MPH degree from NSU in 2017.

In recognition of her achievements, Diana was inducted into the Pi Alpha National Honor Society for Physician Assistants and was awarded the Chancellor's Award from Nova Southeastern University for demonstrating scholarship, leadership, integrity, humanity, and loyalty to the PA profession. In addition, she is a Fellow member of both the Florida Academy of Physician Assistants and the American Academy of Physician Assistants.

In 2024 Professor Cherkiss was appointed to her current position as Program Director.
